Students in each year are attached to a class teacher who remains with them all through their academic program. Thus new class teachers are assigned only to the entry year unless there is need to change or re-assign class teachers in other classes. There are three opportunities for Class Teachers to meet formally with their students:
Daily during registration in the morning before classes
Daily during registration after Angelus at Noon and
Weekly during Personal Social Interactive (PSI) sessions
Class Teachers are responsible for the pastoral care of all the students in their class and they strive to know the true identity and character of their students in order to make useful reports to the Principal and their parents. They constantly monitor the behavior and work of each student and try to see that their students obey school rules and regulations.
In addition, each student is assigned to a particular teacher as Personal Guardian for one academic year. Every teacher-guardian officially has opportunity to meet with his/her students on a weekly basis to ascertain their academic performances in their subjects, social challenges and personal issues which they may wish to discuss.
School Coordinators
Activities of the two schools viz: the Junior Secondary School and the Senior Secondary Schools are supervised by School Coordinators. The School Coordinators ensure that subject teachers teach their subjects at the right time and each registers every topic and activity carried out per lesson in a Class attendance register before leaving the class. They also organize inter class competitions between classes in their schools. They also give weekly reports to the Principal on the activities of each school and liaise with the School Program coordinator for the smooth running of school programmes.
Subject Teachers
All subject teachers belong to either Science/Mathematics or Arts/Humanities Department. They are responsible for class room delivery of the subject they teach. Each subject teacher prepares ahead of time for his/her lessons, makes use of instructional materials and chooses the best method to transfer knowledge to the students during contact hours.
Heads of Departments
Each department is supervised by a Head of Department who organizes regular meetings with subject teachers to review their work and brainstorm for better and effective ways to increase efficiency and student achievement. The HODs also meet regularly with the Principal about what goes on in their departments.
School Programme Coordinator
The School Programme Coordinator assists the principal in ensuring a proper and timely running of all school programs.
Guidance Counsellor
The School Guidance Counselor (SGC) provides assistance to all personnel, administer all counselling activities and provides feedback to all staff and parents. The SGC participates in guidance counselling sessions with students assisting them in choosing appropriate careers, prepare vocational goals for them, assist those with emotional requirements and generally ensure growth of students.
